Growing Demand for H₂O₂ Contact Lens Systems in European Markets
A new market analysis highlights a 34% YoY growth in hydrogen peroxide-based contact lens care, driven by consumer preference for preservative-free solutions.

A newly published industry report from Euromonitor International highlights accelerating demand for hydrogen peroxide-based contact lens care systems across the EU5 markets (Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain), with year-on-year volume growth of 34% recorded in the 12 months to March 2025.
The report attributes this growth primarily to rising consumer awareness of preservative-related ocular adverse effects, optometrist recommendation rates shifting toward H₂O₂ systems for patients with sensitive eyes, and pharmacy chain planogram resets following strong category performance in 2023–2024.
Conley Carey's H₂O₂ Deep Clean 360, featuring a 3.5% hydrogen peroxide formula with integrated platinum neutralisation disc, is positioned at the premium end of the category. The product has recorded a 41% increase in export volume to EU markets over the same period, with particularly strong uptake in Germany and the Netherlands.
"The fundamentals are very strong," said James Thornton, VP International Sales. "Consumers are increasingly reading ingredient labels and asking their optometrists about preservative-free options. Our formulation and our regulatory documentation give retail and professional channel partners a compelling proposition."
Conley Carey is actively seeking additional distribution partners in Nordic and Eastern European markets. Enquiries should be directed to export@conleycarey.com.
